Cancer Survive It! by Michelle Brennan

Cancer. A blessing in disguise. Cancer is a blessing in disguise. A wake up call. A reality check. An opportunity to transform your life. An opportunity to take back your power, your health, and turn your life around into a life you love to live. Hello, my name is Michelle Brennan and I’ve now joined “the club”.  “The Cancer Club.”  Not by choice but I’m now one of the millions who either have cancer or have survived it.  My journey with cancer started about three years ago, I lived a hectic lifestyle, I was busy raising a family, promoting a book,...

Robyn beats cancer odds

Kristy Muir | 3rd February 2012 – Sunshine Coast Daily ONE Australian woman every 11 hours will lose her battle with ovarian cancer. The disease is said to be a silent killer, but medical experts say this is untrue. In fact, symptoms of abdominal or pelvis pain, abdominal bloating, needing to urinate often and feeling full quickly are often mistaken for menopause or other female discomforts. The hardest part about detecting this cancer is there is no early detection test. Pap smears and ultrasounds cannot detect it. Coast ovarian cancer survivor Robyn Woodrow was diagnosed...

Robyn Woodrow – My Story

I was fortunate to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 45 – fortunate that it was detected very early though serendipitous circumstances.  With a strong family history of female cancer, I had been preparing (and being prepared) for this challenge for a while.  Notwithstanding, I still felt lost after my diagnosis, until I discovered the Beautiful You Program.  Immediately, I felt a sense of belonging.  Our cancer journeys were unique, but by sharing ‘travel stories’, the path became easier. So you could imagine in my house hold with 2 teen ages an 8yr old, my husband, my nan and half the neighbourhood (the boys friends) popping in after school and staying on weekends how busy it...

Trish Fitzgerald I have been fortunate enough to be introduced to “The Beautiful You” mornings hosted by Debbie Clayton. I was told about the generosity and care that Debbie gives to women going through the effects of Cancer from a friend of mine. I immediately was very keen to go along to see for myself as my Chemo had finished 12 months before. Yet I had to have a second Mastectomy after that in December and my husband and I had started to feel the financial strain that numerous operations, treatments and medications bring. Generally, other places I have spoken to if you are no...
